After the release of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, discussions about the future of the Metal Gear series naturally shifted to a possible third collection. According to information shared by VideoGamesChronicle journalist Jordan Miller on the Nextlander podcast, the potential Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 3 could include Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, as well as both parts of Metal Gear Solid 5 – Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.
Miller emphasized that he does not have official confirmation and would not want to present what he heard as reliable information. According to him, it is a rumor that he was told, and he himself admits that the source could be mistaken.
The idea would be to do a third [Master Collection] with Revengeance and an enhanced version of the fifth game, because it never had a full modern console release. I think it still runs well on PC.
By "enhanced" version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, it is likely not meant to restore cut content, but rather to adapt the game for modern platforms with 60 frames per second support. Miller noted that it would be great to bring back well-known cut content to the game, but considers such an option less likely.
