Updated Switch 2 Disassembled: Nintendo Simplified Battery Replacement

Nintendo released a version of the Switch 2 with a replaceable battery in accordance with new EU requirements, and the first owners have already disassembled the console.

Nintendo released an updated version of the Switch 2 with a replaceable battery, and the first owners are already showing how to replace it and installing higher-capacity batteries.

Nintendo did not increase the performance of the Switch 2 or change the screen. The change is due to new European Union requirements: the battery can now be replaced without sending the console for service.

To access the battery, you need to detach the Joy-Con 2, unscrew a few screws, and remove the back panel. After that, the battery becomes accessible for replacement. The operation requires basic skills and appropriate tools.

At the same time, players are already using the new design to install higher-capacity batteries. According to available confirmations, this allows for an increase in playtime by approximately one hour. Thus, the change, dictated by EU requirements, turned out to be useful for console owners as well.
