The Chinese gaming industry continues to grow rapidly amidst the difficulties faced by the Western market. According to research by analytics company Niko Partners, in 2025, the Chinese video game market generated approximately $51.8 billion, more than five times the figure for the United Kingdom.
In comparison, the British video game market earned $8.76 billion last year, an increase of 7.4% year-on-year.
In 2026, the volume of the Chinese market could increase by approximately 4% to $53.9 billion, and by 2030, reach $59.8 billion.
The growth of the Chinese gaming industry is evident not only in financial terms. At gamescom 2026, more than 60 Chinese companies and games presented their projects. Among them were projects such as Phantom Blade Zero, A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei, Sea of Remnants, and Showa: American Story.
