The most profitable new game of 2026 for Valve was Forza Horizon 6. According to Alinea Analytics, the racing project brought the company approximately $210.5 million in revenue from sales on Steam.
In second place was Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss — the game provided Valve with about $203.3 million. Third place was taken by Resident Evil Requiem, which brought the platform approximately $200.9 million.
However, even the most successful new releases account for a relatively small share of Steam's total earnings. According to Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott, the six most profitable new releases of 2026 collectively brought in about $1 billion, which is only 6.6% of Steam's estimated revenue of $15 billion.
If the sample is expanded to the 100 most profitable new games, the figure increases to $2.4 billion, or approximately 15.9% of the platform's total revenue for the year.
