Co-op added to classic Metal Gear Solid - alpha version mod trailer released

News

The classic can be played with a friend.

Recently, a modder under the nickname Felipe published a new trailer for his modification of Hideo Kojima's cult game (Metal Gear Solid). The enthusiast decided to turn Metal Gear Solid (1998) into a cooperative game.

In this video, Felipe invites players to look at the alpha version of the modification. He showed a montage of moments from playing MGS in co-op mode. This is a very early version, so there are technical problems – the modder is trying to fix them:

I know about the bug where the guard flies very far when killed by the second player. I swear to you, I'm trying to fix it.

Felipe also announced that he launched a Patreon channel through which players can support his work. However, he clarified that he does not plan to hide the project behind paid access:

None of my mods will be hidden behind any access level. Any beta or demo will be fully available to everyone.

Currently, Felipe continues to test co-op in Metal Gear Solid and fix various bugs. The modder did not specify when the full version of the project might be released.
