Nintendo shared details of the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time during The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct broadcast.
Link will now be able to jump on his own, as well as swim and dive underwater.
Switching between items will now be possible with a single button.
Characters will receive full voice acting during story scenes, which was not present in the original Ocarina of Time.
The updated version will still feature loading screens, as the developers consider them an important part of the original's atmosphere and spirit.
A Threads of Time system will be introduced for navigation through the adventure. It will allow players to track their progress and understand what the next objective should be.
Changes will also affect familiar locations. New areas that were previously closed will appear in Hyrule Castle Town. Players will be able to learn more rumors and participate in various mini-games.
The game world will become more dynamic thanks to full day-night cycle changes across the entire world.
Special attention is given to the legendary ocarina, which can now be used to play melodies directly during gameplay.
The remake will be released on November 5 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
