The Witcher 3's Buggy Roach Was So Popular with Players That CDPR Will Allow Bringing Back the Old Horse in the Remaster

News

Many fans of the game appreciated the interesting behavior of Roach.

The release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster is approaching, and CD Projekt RED is gradually revealing different details of the project. It was already known that the improvements are not only cosmetic — the developers will refine various game mechanics.

The changes will also affect Roach. During an interview with Fall Damage, CD Projekt RED Creative Director Karolina Kuzia-Rokosz mused: "Regarding Roach and her quirks... why fix what people love so much?"

A colleague replied: "I don't know of any bugs related to Roach — as far as I'm concerned, she's perfect. And yet, one of the cool features of the remaster is that we've updated Roach's movement behavior. So, in that regard, something might disappoint you."

However, CD Projekt RED noted that some players really like the behavior of the original Roach from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Therefore, the developers decided to add the ability to switch between the new and old behavior models in the remaster.

If Roach's improvements are disabled, new horse movements and features, such as the ability to jump on her while running, will not be available.
