Digital fantasy MOBA-style board game based on the "zero-luck" principle is being removed from Steam
The Tabletopia project - Guards of Atlantis II will soon disappear from the digital store.
Recently, the developers of the "sandbox" with virtual tables for board games, Tabletopia, announced that they would soon remove one of the add-ons from sale.
We are talking about the digital board game Guards of Atlantis II. The authors position it as a competitive team board game inspired by the MOBA genre. It is based on the zero-luck principle, i.e., the creators exclude the element of "luck" from the game.
In Guards of Atlantis II, each player controls one hero and uses a set of cards to move their character across the game board, use special abilities, and attack enemies. By defeating enemy minions, players will receive coins that are used to buy levels and upgrade their hero.
The main goal: to help your "minions" (units that are not directly controlled by players) reach the enemy base and capture it.
Guards of Atlantis II is designed for 4-8 players, and a game can take from 90 to 150 minutes.
Tabletopia itself is distributed under a conditionally free-to-play model. Guards of Atlantis II was released as a premium DLC in the summer of 2020. Judging by the reviews — there are less than 10 of them — this board game was not particularly popular.
Current owners of Guards of Atlantis II will keep the add-on in their libraries and will be able to use the content in the future.
