Insider and Windows Central journalist Jez Corden recently shared what he "heard" with readers. Information reached him that Blackbird Interactive might be working on a real-time strategy game in collaboration with Blizzard.
At the moment, it's unclear exactly what project Blackbird Interactive might be working on with Blizzard Entertainment. Rumors suggest that StarCraft is being handed over to South Korean developers, so it's assumed that this could be something related to Warcraft – a full-fledged new RTS or an update for an existing one. For example, there were previous reports that a major update was planned for Warcraft III: Reforged.
Notably, a few years ago, Blackbird Interactive released the space strategy game Homeworld 3. The project received scathing reviews on Steam and entered the anti-rating of the "top 100 worst" by user rating.
However, they also have a more successful project in their portfolio. The strategy game Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak (2016) received "mostly positive" reviews from players on Steam.
