Blizzard is preparing a major 3.0 update for Warcraft III: Reforged - dataminer

News

It is assumed that developers will show the next update at BlizzCon.

Upon release, Warcraft III: Reforged was met with criticism. Fans of the original real-time strategy game were very dissatisfied with the changes and the quality of the "improved" version of the game.

Blizzard Entertainment subsequently released a series of patches with various improvements and occasionally continues to return with updates. Perhaps this time the studio is preparing for the release of a very large update.

Dataminer under the nickname Stiven drew the community's attention to changes in the build. Formally, this is a transition from version "2.0.4.24235" to "2.0.4.24240", but Stiven claims that in reality, the developers have ambitious plans:

Oh, it looks like there's good news for Warcraft III fans. Blizzard is actively working on Warcraft III version 3.0. I know you read that as "2.0.4", but that's what they [the developers] want you to see :)

According to Stiven, Warcraft III fans will "get something new" at the September BlizzCon 2026 event. The dataminer did not disclose details of a possible 3.0 update for Warcraft III: Reforged.

It is noteworthy that surprises also await StarCraft fans – rumors about the development of a new project for the franchise have recently intensified.
