It is possible that EA will cease to exist as a separate entity - Bloomberg

Just over a month after the completion of the largest deal in its history, Electronic Arts may face a new large-scale restructuring. According to Bloomberg, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund is considering merging EA with its gaming holding company, Savvy Games Group.

According to sources, the fund is discussing the creation of one of the largest gaming companies in the world. The merger is expected to improve coordination between the assets already owned by the Saudi fund and provide it with a single structure for further expansion in the gaming market.

However, there is no final decision yet. Moreover, the potential deal will not take place until Savvy completes its acquisition of the Chinese mobile company Moonton — the owner of projects such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The value of this deal is estimated at approximately $6 billion.

If the merger of EA and Savvy does indeed happen, Saudi Arabia will receive a single structure through which it can acquire new companies, develop games, and utilize its intellectual property. It is currently unknown what form the new structure will take: EA may continue to exist as a separate company within the merged group, or one of the parties may be completely absorbed by the other.
