NEOGEO AES+ Arcade System Release Postponed to September 16, 2027

This year, retro gamers definitely won't be able to get their hands on the cartridge-based NEOGEO Advanced Entertainment System+ arcade system, but pre-order customers will receive gifts from PLAION.

The NEOGEO Advanced Entertainment System+, which is fully compatible with original NEO GEO AES cartridges, was supposed to be released on November 12, 2026.

However, a few hours ago, PLAION announced that the device's release has been postponed to September 16, 2027. Due to global component supply chain constraints, the team simply cannot produce enough systems to ensure the global launch that the gaming community deserves.

The developers need additional time to expand production, procure necessary components, and invest in an even bigger future for NEOGEO AES+. Pre-orders will remain open, and existing orders will retain their priority in the shipping queue. There will be no price increase, and no action is required from users.

As part of the updated launch plans, all consoles from the first production batch will include a founder's bonus. Owners of the standard and anniversary editions will receive a free NEOGEO AES+ gamepad, while owners of the ultimate edition will receive a voucher for a 30% discount on future NEOGEO AES+ games.

Currently, the standard edition of the NEOGEO Advanced Entertainment System+ with a wired arcade stick can be pre-ordered for $249.99 (21,267 rubles, black color). The anniversary edition in a pristine white design, featuring a wireless arcade stick, Metal Slug cartridge, and memory card, will be available for $349.99 (29,775 rubles).

And for $999.99 (85,074 rubles), you can purchase the ultimate edition of the console, which will include a wireless gamepad, wired and wireless arcade sticks, and 10 games — Metal Slug, The King of Fighters 2002, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Big Tournament Golf, Shock Troopers, Samurai Shodown V Special, Pulstar, Twinkle Star Sprites, Magician Lord, and Over Top.
