Creator of Needle In A Haystack Simulator mocked Marvel's Wolverine hints - showed AAA mode with yellow paint

News

As the release of Marvel's Wolverine approaches, new gameplay footage has been published online. Some users' attention was drawn to the visual hints: developers show a "scent trail." This is a linear game, so this hint system has been actively ridiculed: the visualization of scent was dubbed a smelly (or stinky) trail. There were also complaints about the paint indicating directions – it was even applied over snow.

Developer Nas (@NasNakarus) noticed what was happening on social media. He is currently working on a needle in a haystack simulator and decided to use the situation to attract more attention to his project.

He published a gameplay teaser of the "AAA game mode" with similar visualization:

In honor of Marvel's Wolverine, we've added an "AAA mode" just in case you can't find the needle in a giant haystack.

Nas took the situation to an absurd level: the player in Needle In A Haystack Simulator is already standing in front of a haystack and only needs to walk a few meters forward, but the developer left hints on the ground, drawn with characteristic yellow paint.

An example of gameplay in "AAA mode" can be viewed at the following link.

The Steam page for Needle In A Haystack Simulator recently appeared: you can add the game to your Steam wishlist at the following link. This game does not yet have a specific release date, but the release window is known – the simulator is planned to be released in the fourth quarter of 2026. The game has found a publisher, Polden Publishing.
