Total War: Warhammer 40,000 developers will allow not only army painting but also specialization and weapon customization
It is expected that ordinary fighters can be turned into dangerous veterans.
Previously, gameplay footage of Total War: Warhammer 40,000 was shown online. From this, it became known that the developers of the galactic strategy will offer players to paint their characters (pink is one of many options).
Gradually, Creative Assembly studio is revealing other details of their project. During the game, players will be able to upgrade their units and adapt them to their strategy, customizing their specialization.
In a recent interview with TechRadar Gaming at Gamescom, developer Dave Petry said that Intercessors – the core of the strike force – can be specialized:
You'll be able to specialize your units as you go through the campaign. Within one campaign, you can take Intercessors and, say, equip them [with different bolter models] and rifles, upgrade them, equip them differently, and ultimately, potentially bring them up to a level similar to Sternguard Veterans.
The game will use actual paint colors used by Games Workshop for customization.
