Minecraft Wilderness Bound Update Release Date Announced - New Biome and Features Coming to the Game

News

Developers fixed several technical issues before launch.

In early September, the Mojang Studios team published a blog dedicated to the upcoming Minecraft update with new content. The update was named “Wilderness Bound.”

Now, the developers have released the Minecraft “26.3 Release Candidate 2” and revealed the update's release date – if nothing changes, it will be released on September 15.

This release candidate only includes one bug fix under the code number MC-311782. A tester reported that clicking the button that opened the folder (“Open Resource Pack Folder”) caused Minecraft to freeze.

The user who discovered this bug explained that it happens because “the SDL implementation works synchronously and blocks the current main thread of the calling code until the task is completed.” They conducted tests and noted that “the process can take several seconds, but such system behavior was probably not intended.”

SIT DOWN! NEW FEATURES INCOMING!

With the release of the Wilderness Bound update, Minecraft will add a lot of new content and features. Players will be able to explore the Dappled Forest biome; craft a straw bed that will allow them to skip the night in the Overworld (without moving the spawn point), but it will break after use. There will also be an option to sit: players will be able to craft pillows.

The Wilderness Bound update for Minecraft is expected to be the last major update this year.
