Closer to the People: Xbox Head Asha Sharma Personally Responds to Player Inquiries for Several Hours Each Month
On the same wavelength as the community.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma seems to have decided not to limit herself to managing the company from her office. As revealed in a new article from The Wall Street Journal, the head of Microsoft's gaming division personally responds to user inquiries in Xbox support for several hours each month.
According to the publication, this experience allowed her to personally confront how difficult it sometimes is to solve even a seemingly simple player problem.
After her appointment to the leadership position, Sharma immediately tackled several areas of Xbox's development. The company is rethinking its approach to Xbox Game Pass, trying to strengthen the Xbox brand as a gaming platform, and simultaneously implementing large-scale changes within the division. At the same time, Sharma herself has repeatedly emphasized the need for utmost honesty regarding the state of the business.
As the WSJ states, Sharma's principle can be summarized by the phrase "clarity is kindness". This is why the executive strives to speak openly with employees about the company's performance, its challenges, and its current situation.
