After its seventh weekend, the cumulative gross of "Spider-Man: New Day" in the US and Canada reached $935.17 million. Now, the blockbuster needs to earn about $1.49 million more to set a new domestic box office record.
The first place is still held by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which earned $936.66 million in the US and Canada. The film has held the record since 2015, but at its current pace, "New Day" could surpass it in the coming days.
Globally, "Spider-Man: New Day" has already grossed $2.451 billion and ranks third among the highest-grossing films in history. Only "Avatar" and "Avengers: Endgame" are higher, having grossed $2.743 billion and $2.799 billion respectively.
