Xbox Game Pass could undergo significant changes in 2027: the basic subscription will allegedly become cheaper, include ads, lose cloud gaming, and day-one game releases.

The information appeared on ResetEra, and its author previously published reliable information about Microsoft's plans. Insider NatetheHate did not confirm the leak, only noted that the source had been correct before. A community reaction check is also not ruled out.

According to rumors, the basic Game Pass will cost $12.99 per month with ads, and the ad-free version will be $19.99. Cloud gaming will be moved to a separate option for $5.99 for 25 hours, multiplayer will cost $10.99, and the family plan will be an additional $5.99.

The most controversial change concerns premieres. From February to April 2027, Microsoft will allegedly begin removing new games from Game Pass on their release day. In return, the cost of the main subscription will be reduced by $3.

While this is unofficial information, such a move would seriously alter the concept of Game Pass, which Microsoft has built for years around day-one access to new games.
