Switch 2-version of 007 First Light will not be released in 2026

IO continues optimization work.

IO Interactive has announced the postponement of the Switch 2-version of 007 First Light. Initially, the game's release on the new Nintendo console was planned for summer 2026, but now the developers expect to release it in March 2027. The exact date will be announced later.

The studio explained the postponement by the need for additional optimization. IO Interactive stated that they want to achieve the quality and performance on Switch 2 that players expect, so the extra time will be used to "polish" the game's version for the Nintendo console.

At the same time, work on 007 First Light for Switch 2 generally continues as planned. IO Interactive specifically noted the positive reaction to the game during gamescom and called it a good sign of the project's progress before its full launch.
