Filming for the first season of Far Cry by FX began on September 14. Cinematographer Polly Morgan announced the start of work, publishing a photo of the clapperboard.
The main roles will be played by Steve Buscemi, Lizzy Caplan, and Rob McElhenney, previously known as Rob Mac. Noah Hawley, creator of "Fargo," "Legion," and "Alien: Earth," serves as the showrunner. He also produces the adaptation alongside Mac.
The plot of the first season and the characters are still being kept secret. However, Far Cry will not be a direct adaptation of any specific game in the series. The creators plan several seasons, each of which, following the example of the original franchise, will tell a standalone story with new characters in a different part of the world.
In parallel, Hawley is working on the second season of "Alien: Earth," the filming of which began in July 2026. The premiere dates for both series have not yet been announced.
