Bandai Namco Filmworks has unveiled the second full trailer for the "Tank Chair" anime and a new poster. The video introduces viewers to Sensei, the founder and absolute ruler of the Academy, voiced by Megumi Ogata.
The anime's events unfold on Guicheng Island, the most dangerous city in the world. The protagonist, Nagi Taira, took a bullet while protecting his younger sister Shizuka, after which he became confined to a wheelchair and fell into a coma. Soon, the girl discovered that Nagi awakens whenever someone tries to kill him. Hoping to heal her brother, Shizuka begins to take on the most dangerous assignments and pit him against genetically modified killers.
"Tank Chair" is based on the manga of the same name by Manabu Yashiro, which is serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine. The anime is being produced by Polygon Pictures, known for "Knights of Sidonia" and the series "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." The studio also worked on individual episodes of the anthologies "Star Wars: Visions" and "Love, Death & Robots."
Tadahiro "Teddy" Yoshihira is responsible for the direction, series composition, and script, while Hiroaki Ando serves as co-director and screenwriter. The music was composed by Masaru Yokoyama. The Japanese voice cast also includes Koki Uchiyama, Miyu Todji, Gakuto Kajiwara, Saori Hayami, Yurina Amami, and Gen Sato.
The premiere of "Tank Chair" will take place on October 4, 2026.
