Zack Cregger, the director of the new "Resident Evil," revealed who he would cast as Lady Dimitrescu. His ideal candidate is Christina Hendricks, known for the series "Mad Men" and "Good Girls":
"Christina Hendricks. I think she's a perfect fit. What do you think?"
Cregger previously admitted that he is already considering a possible sequel to the film and sees several directions for the story's development. However, the mention of Hendricks does not confirm that Lady Dimitrescu will appear in a potential sequel.
Even while working on the first film, the director emphasized that he would not retell the game's plots. Cregger aimed to convey the tension and structure of Resident Evil's gameplay using new characters and an independent story. With this approach, Lady Dimitrescu and other familiar characters from the series may not appear in his films at all.
The new "Resident Evil" is set to premiere worldwide on September 18, 2026.
