Dredge Creators Founded a New Studio - It's Working on the Roguelike Nothing Lost
Black Salt Games shared the first details of the new project.
The developers of Dredge from Black Salt Games announced the founding of a new studio, Team Trifold. The team consists of only three people and is located in Christchurch, next to Black Salt Games and Disc 2 Games.
All three studios will continue to operate independently but will share resources through Saltworks Entertainment. The new structure will handle marketing, localization, testing, sound, and publishing issues so that developers can focus on creativity:
"We like working in small teams. This format helps maintain creative focus, and resources and expertise that don't make sense to keep within each studio can be shared."
Team Trifold's debut project will be the isometric action roguelike Nothing Lost. The story centers on generations of shamans attempting to conquer the Tower of Souls. The key game mechanic will be legacy: after a character's death, their spirit with all accumulated abilities remains within the dungeon. The next hero can find the fallen predecessor to claim their powers or summon them as an assistant in battle.
Nothing Lost is being developed for PC. The game's page is already available on Steam, but the release date has not yet been announced.
