Insider: NVIDIA and AMD are not rushing with new GPUs - gamers will have to wait

NVIDIA and AMD, according to fresh leaks, may postpone the mass release of next-generation video cards until 2028, leaving 2027 almost without new GPUs.

According to insider Kepler_L2, NVIDIA does not plan to release the GeForce RTX 60 series in 2027. Earlier reports suggested a possible release as early as the beginning of next year – now the launch is allegedly postponed to 2028.

A similar situation is developing at AMD: the full line of video cards based on the RDNA 5 architecture is also expected to be released only in 2028. The exception may be the AT2 GPU with 40 compute units (CUs), which is expected in 2027. According to rumors, it will allow AMD to compete more actively in the high-performance segment, including with the GeForce RTX 5080.

The reason for the delays may be the situation in the memory market: rising prices and supply problems have allegedly already affected NVIDIA's plans for the RTX 50 SUPER series. The manufacturer may abandon it and focus on the next generation.

If the leaks are confirmed, 2027 will be extremely quiet for the new video card market, and gamers will have to wait longer for a noticeable performance leap.
