The Blood of Dawnwalker 2 may not get a timer - director explained the decision
The Blood of Dawnwalker sequel might drop the timer: game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz stated that the mechanic will only return in stories where it truly fits.
The Blood of Dawnwalker quickly became one of the notable RPGs of 2026, selling a million copies in a few days and receiving positive reviews. However, one of its controversial features was a timer, and the most popular mod on release day was one that removed this mechanic.
When asked about the timer's return in the sequel, Tomaszkiewicz replied:
Honestly, we haven't decided yet. We will experiment. If we have parts of the story or the entire story where it fits, we will use it. If we have stories where it doesn't fit, we won't force it. We will experiment with the system and try to use it to enhance the sense of urgency for certain events in the game. But I'm not saying that every game will have the same pattern or cycle – that's not the case.

According to the game director, Rebel Wolves is also exploring "other crazy ideas" that could change the RPG genre and surprise players in the future.
The studio continues to fix bugs and performance issues in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and previously promised small free add-ons.
