The first batch of FPGB Mini portable consoles sold out in 10 minutes by retrogamers
The first batch of the FPGB Mini portable console, a mini version of the Game Boy, had only 20 units, so only a few lucky ones managed to get their hands on it first. Now users can only wait for new deliveries from the developers.
The Chinese company FunnyPlaying unexpectedly launched sales of the first batch of the FPGB Mini portable console on its official website. But just 10 minutes after this event, gamers bought all the units.
Nevertheless, users should not be too upset, as the developers released only 20 units of the FPGB Mini. Those who managed to purchase the console had to pay $69 (5823 rubles).
In addition, FunnyPlaying employees announced that holidays for the PRC National Day are approaching. The company has another 30–50 FPGB Mini consoles that it will only be able to sell after the holidays.
This device has a 2.98-inch IPS display, a real-time clock module, link cable support via USB-C (additional adapters required), microSD card support (up to 32 GB), a rechargeable 1800 mAh battery, and a 0.5 W speaker.
The dimensions of the FPGB Mini are 113 × 64 × 22 mm. The weight with battery is 135 grams. According to the Retro Dodo portal, the device is not perfect. For example, it cannot run cartridges with vibration function because the back compartment is too large, and the battery pack on the cartridge itself prevents it from fully entering the slot.
Plus, the FPGB Mini has a very flimsy on/off switch that sometimes doesn't move all the way. Perhaps this drawback will be fixed in future batches (most likely, this is why FunnyPlaying has prepared such a small number of FPGB Mini units so far).
