"Omens" to be released in Russia - a board game about mysterious Tarot-style cards
Russian-speaking fans of Tarot-style cards and board games about bluffing, calculations, and unusual solutions will have the opportunity to personally evaluate the team game "Omens," where each card is a sign of the future.
Crowd Games publishing house announced that it will release “Omens” (also known as Omens or Présages) in Russian – a team-based board card game by Spiral Éditions and Maxime Rambourg, author of “For the Crown,” “The Loop,” and “Dracula vs. Van Helsing.”
Sales are scheduled to start in October 2026. This is an unusual project where participants are divided into two or three teams and play cards with special properties until only one card remains in someone's hand.
Each card is a sign of the future that needs to be interpreted correctly: a player can influence cards of both allies and opponents with immediate and delayed effects, so the right moment is needed (however, the team cannot communicate).
The game lasts until two victories, and in a round, each of the 4–6 players receives 4–5 cards. A card can be discarded if it has the highest value in the round (in the deck – from 1 to 35), but cards are also discarded due to unique properties related to value, color, and other conditions.
If a player is unlucky with effects and winning the round, they will have to return the card to their hand. This is an original game where there is room for bluffing, calculation, and unusual solutions.
In addition, the size of the cards in “Omens” corresponds to Tarot cards, as during the development of the game, artist Ben Renaud was inspired by the esoteric imagery of Tarot, but created something new and elegant. On the BoardGameGeek portal, this board game received 7.4 out of 10 points.
