"The Darkest Night Is Yet to Come": Trailer for the Final Episodes of "Lanterns" Released

HBO Max has released a trailer for the second half of the first season of the superhero detective series "Lanterns". The video contains spoilers for the first five episodes and shows how a local murder investigation begins to escalate into a cosmic-scale story.
The trailer is accompanied by the phrase "The darkest night is yet to come." This refers to "Blackest Night," one of the DC Comics events, and also plays on the Green Lantern Corps oath: "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight."
Executive producer Damon Lindelof previously stated that showrunner Chris Mundy is already considering a possible continuation:
"If the series is successful and viewers like it, we will have plenty of room for new seasons. As far as I know, Chris Mundy has already started assembling a writers' room and looking for new stories for 'Lanterns'."
The first season of "Lanterns" consists of eight episodes. The sixth episode will be released on HBO Max on September 20.
