The developers of Sea of Thieves and other projects have decided to attract an additional audience.
Recently, several studios launched a "free weekend" promotion on PC in Steam, offering players the opportunity to explore various projects.
For example, you can play Sea of Thieves: 2026 Edition for free. Players, alone or in a group, can embark on adventures as pirates: complete quests and participate in battles on land and at sea.

Keepsake Games studio invites players to Jump Space (formerly known as Jump Ship). This is a cooperative PvE shooter designed for 1-4 players – the authors offer various missions:

The shooter Last Flag has also become temporarily free. The developer is Night Street Games – this studio was founded by Imagine Dragons vocalist Dan Reynolds.
This is a PvP shooter with a "5 vs 5" battle format. The authors offer a reinterpretation of the classic "capture the flag" mode. Players are given time to find a secluded spot for their flag, and then the hunt for the opponent's flag begins, which must be delivered to their base.
