A parody of "Harry Potter" games has been translated into Russian - a localization for Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate has been released
The game continues to be gradually developed in "early access."
Last year, developers John Szymanski and Evan Szymanski released Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate on PC via Steam in "early access." The game is made in the spirit of classic "Harry Potter" games, but the story centers on a fight against a criminal syndicate.
According to the plot, the "Web" syndicate has taken over the school, and it is now led by the evil wizard headmaster Grumble-de-Mort. The main character (or characters — there's co-op) is a wizard and, coincidentally, a secret agent. He must infiltrate the magic academy, explore the area, search for clues and the villain's lairs, and learn powerful spells.
Recently, a user under the nickname c0dy released a Russian localization for Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate. He noted that it is a "machine translation," described the features of the localization, and published several screenshots:
- Translation of menus, quests, items, descriptions, spells, and dialogues: 826 unique text values, 1533 localization keys.
- Cyrillic in game fonts, text size corrections.
- Russian subtitles for the intro video, found NPC voice lines, character lines, and voice spell options.
- Translation of dynamic notifications, item interactions, and counters.
- Buttons to support the translator and website in the main menu.
