New "X-Men" to be joined by three more characters - one of them will get an important role in the sequel
Fans are waiting for the appearance of Sunspot, Psylocke, or Jubilee.
Marvel Studios continues to assemble the cast for the new "X-Men." According to insider Daniel Richtman, the studio is looking for actors for three more supporting roles.
According to the role descriptions, one of the heroines will first appear in a small episode, but her role will significantly expand in the sequel. For the second character, Marvel is looking for an actor of Native American or Hispanic descent, and the third heroine should be played by an actress of Asian descent.
The names of the characters have not yet been revealed. If Marvel is indeed looking for a Native American hero, possible candidates could include Forge, Thunderbird, or Warpath. In the case of a Hispanic character, Sunspot seems to be one of the most obvious choices, although there are other Hispanic mutants in the comics, such as Empath and El Aguila. Among Asian heroines, fans most often mention Psylocke and Jubilee.
Marvel introduced the main cast at the D23 festival. Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey after appearing in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. The team's main antagonist will be Mister Sinister, played by Adam Driver. Asa Germann also joined the project, cast as Angel.
The new "X-Men" will be directed by Jake Schreier, director of "Thunderbolts." The film is scheduled to premiere on May 5, 2028.
