Zach Cregger's new "Resident Evil" will arrive in Russian cinemas in early October. Some venues have already added the film to their schedule and opened ticket sales.
"Resident Evil" tells the story of medical courier Brian, played by Austin Abrams. The hero travels to Raccoon City with an important delivery but finds himself at the epicenter of a virus outbreak and is forced to fight his way through a city filled with terrifying mutants.
The cast also includes Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, Paul Walter Hauser, Jonno Wilson, Devon Stewart, and Sean W. Loyser.
The film has been highly praised by critics and early viewers. As of the time of writing, "Resident Evil" has a 96% rating from critics and 92% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes — these are the best figures among the franchise's films. On Metacritic, the film received 79 out of 100 points, which also set a series record. Reviewers praise the bloody horror, black humor, and Austin Abrams' performance, while the main criticisms are related to the final part of the story.
