In September, SCS Software studio officially released update 1.61 for American Truck Simulator. Previously, fans of the truck driver simulator could test the new features during the “open beta”.
American Truck Simulator developers added an optional Proximity Exploration feature to the game. Usually, a road is marked as “explored” if the truck has driven on it, but when this feature is activated, the map will start to be colored in a certain zone around the vehicle. This should simplify the process of 100% location exploration.
The developers published an example of map coloring with Proximity Exploration enabled (first screenshot) and the classic Precision Exploration mode (second screenshot):
In addition, update 1.61 adds an improved material system for International LT and International LoneStar trucks. Thanks to this, materials in the cabins will look more realistic.
In addition, the creators of American Truck Simulator introduced new cargo, such as seed containers, and also improved the appearance of some existing ones.
