"Chaos and Evil Intentions": A New Still of Emma Mackey as Jadis from "Narnia" Revealed
Empire continues to introduce viewers to the characters of the new C. S. Lewis adaptation.
Empire magazine published another still of Emma Mackey as Jadis from the film "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew". The actress once again appeared in the familiar metallic outfit with a pronounced glam-rock aesthetic, which has already sparked heated debate in the community.
Some users criticized Greta Gerwig for her free reinterpretation of Jadis, while others liked the unusual image. Supporters of the chosen style also reminded that the events take place long before "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", when the heroine had not yet become the White Witch.
Mackey herself describes Jadis as a being that cannot be confined to conventional frameworks:
"In the script, she's described as the embodiment of chaos and bad decisions. She's like a creature that cannot be confined to conventional frameworks."
Greta Gerwig, meanwhile, wanted to create a grand rock opera capable of transporting viewers to another world:
"Narnia is literally woven from music. Aslan awakens this world with his song, and rock and roll for me was also a world woven from music."
Preliminary IMAX screenings of "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew" will begin on February 10, 2027. The film will be released worldwide on February 12, and will appear on Netflix on April 2.
