PS6 compared to RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 - new rumors about console performance have emerged
PS6 will allegedly receive a custom AMD GPU based on the RDNA 5 architecture with 54 CUs and will be able to achieve 68-80 TFLOPS in peak computations thanks to Dual Issue technology.
According to Gamegpu, the PS6 graphics processor will be manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process, operate at frequencies up to 3.6 GHz, and use a 160-bit GDDR7 bus with speeds up to 32 Gbps. The chip's TDP is allegedly 160 W.
In classic rasterization, the GPU will be able to deliver approximately 34–40 TFLOPS. At the same time, one CU, thanks to RDNA 5, can be 15–20% more productive than its counterpart in the RX 9070 XT.
The use of Dual Issue looks much more interesting: theoretically, peak FP32 performance can increase to 68–80 TFLOPS. However, this does not mean 80 TFLOPS of classic performance – the basic estimate remains at 34–40 TFLOPS.

PS6 will also allegedly receive PSSR 3. In combination with RDNA 5, the technology should improve performance in games with ray tracing and path tracing. The Gamegpu editorial team even suggests an advantage of up to 70–100% over the RX 9070 XT in full ray tracing. All these calculations should be viewed skeptically for now.
