Vin Diesel posted new photos on his personal account as Kaulder, the main character of "The Last Witch Hunter". The actor did not specify what the pictures were related to, but these shots were not in the original film. Fans suggested that Diesel was hinting at the sequel's promotion.
Lionsgate confirmed the production of the sequel in September 2025. Diesel will once again play Kaulder, and Michael Caine is expected to return as the 36th Dolan. For the project, the 93-year-old actor, who announced his retirement in 2023, plans to appear on screen again.
"The Last Witch Hunter" was released in 2015 and grossed $146 million on a budget of about $90 million. Critics gave the film a cool reception: its rating on Rotten Tomatoes is 17% from critics and 44% from viewers. However, the film performed well on streaming services. According to Adam Fogelson, head of Lionsgate's film division, this helped launch the sequel into production.
The sequel does not yet have a premiere date.
