Marvel Tōkon Fails to Retain PC Players - Online Count Dropped by Nearly Tenfold

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has experienced a sharp decline in its online player count on Steam - approximately six weeks after its release, the peak number of players dropped from nearly 25 thousand to 809.

At the time of writing, there were 637 people playing the game. Meanwhile, the PS5 version received 85 points on Metacritic and 94% on OpenCritic, whereas the PC release started with technical issues: only 44% of Steam reviews were positive, a figure that has now risen to approximately 49%.

According to Alinea Analytics, Marvel Tōkon sold approximately 740 thousand copies across all platforms. This is unofficial data. For comparison, Guilty Gear Strive sold over 500 thousand copies in about a month after its release and, five years later, maintains a higher daily peak online count on Steam.

The main problems with the PC version remain technical shortcomings. Developers have released several updates, but users continue to report performance issues. Additional controversy was caused by Steam's regional restrictions and the requirement for a PlayStation account for online features.
