Xbox Awaits New Major Restructuring - Hundreds of Employees to Be Laid Off

Several months ago, Microsoft began a large-scale restructuring of its gaming division: hundreds of employees lost their jobs, projects were canceled, and changes affected entire studios and teams. Now, the company appears to be preparing a new wave of layoffs.

Journalist Andy Robinson reported that he “hears of more bad news related to Xbox coming soon.” Jason Schreier of Bloomberg also stated: “Blizzard layoffs are coming and are close.” Microsoft and Blizzard have not yet officially announced new layoffs.

The situation may also affect Halo. Insider NateTheHate mentioned layoffs and reported that not only Halo would move under Activision Blizzard King: “Also, other studios will be moved to different companies within Xbox/MS.”

The Information claims that Xbox plans to lay off hundreds of employees this week. This will be the second major wave of layoffs in Microsoft's gaming division this year. The company intends to merge several studios, and it is not yet known which teams will be affected by the changes.
