The developers of the Wardogs shooter intend to gradually increase the game's price as it develops in early access. Bulkhead studio head Joe Brammer explained that this approach will allow the team to support the project for a long time, and urged players who are not satisfied with the cost to simply not buy the game.
Speaking with GamesRadar+ at Gamescom, Brammer called the system "price scaling." At the start of early access, Wardogs sells for $39.99, but in about a year, when the game reaches version 0.5, the price will increase to $49.99. In about another year, the price will rise to $59.99.
If you don't want to join now, wait until more content and features are available, and buy the game later. If you want to buy it cheaper now – that's also great.
The head of Bulkhead noted that the development of Wardogs is not cheap for the studio. According to him, the team is somewhere between an indie and an AA-studio, and creating realistic graphics requires significant time and resources.
We spend a lot of money on development. If you want to play a cheaper shooter, you can choose a cheaper shooter. That's perfectly fine. But that's how much our game costs. Our game is worth this money, and if you don't agree with that, please don't buy it.
