Laura Bailey, who played Abby in The Last of Us Part II, has been cast in the third season of the HBO series “The Last of Us.” In the adaptation, the actress will portray Elizabeth, one of the leaders of the Seraphites religious community. This marks Bailey's second appearance in the series: in the first season finale, she played a cameo role as a nurse in the Fireflies' operating room.
John Goodman and Ian Alexander, who played Lev in The Last of Us Part II, have also joined the cast. Goodman and Alexander will play Joey and Paco, a friendly duo who call themselves the “Highway Heroes.” These characters were not in the original game, so their role in the plot is currently unknown.
The third season of “The Last of Us” will tell the events of The Last of Us Part II from Abby's perspective. The premiere is scheduled for 2027, with the exact date yet to be announced.
