The beta is attracting significant interest from players worldwide, despite access costing from $59.99.

The World of Warcraft: Forever beta continues to test Blizzard's infrastructure. After the massive presentation of the new MMO at BlizzCon 2026, developers have already increased the limit of concurrent users in the game several times – and have now done so again.

The latest increase in the limit was announced by Holly Longdale, Executive Producer and Vice President of Blizzard for World of Warcraft. In a post on X, she wrote: “We had to increase the WoW: Forever beta population cap again. The insane ride continues.”

Precise information on which regions the limit was increased for – Europe, the US, or both – has not been disclosed.

High demand became evident almost immediately after the testing began. Blizzard Senior Game Designer Josh Greenfield previously stated that he was observing “the most insane metrics in 17 years at Blizzard.” Due to the huge number of people wanting to play, servers experienced problems, after which developers had to increase the allowable number of players.

Problems also arose directly at the start of the beta. Senior Producer Tom Ellis called the influx of users “a bit excessive,” as a huge number of players simultaneously tried to access World of Warcraft: Forever.
