Tests and graphics comparison of The Witcher 3 remaster have appeared - even RTX 5090 is not enough for top graphics in 4K 60 FPS

News

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered will be released tomorrow. Gameplay footage has already started to appear online, and the first graphics comparisons have emerged.

The developers introduced an improved shading model in the remaster, and also updated the visual effects of Signs, enhanced the lighting and shading of grass and foliage. In addition, many textures and models were updated based on assets from The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project (the well-known modder HalkHogan assisted the developers).

The author of the YouTube channel The Gameverse decided to compare The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered with the original version, as well as the next-gen update. The footage he showed confirms initial feedback that some scenes in the remaster may look brighter. However, the vegetation in the new version of the game is more diverse, and the models look more modern:

Technical tests of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered have also started to appear online. The Hardware Unboxed YouTube channel presented testing results, and it turned out that even a GeForce RTX 5090 cannot deliver 60 FPS in the remaster when playing in 4K resolution, with ultra-graphics and path tracing, using “Performance” upscaling. Such a powerful graphics card averaged 59 FPS.
