Improved Gothic 1 Classic Remaster with Updated Engine and Custom VR Mode Released on Steam

Players now have a new way to immerse themselves in the world of Gothic.

At the end of September, a new version of the Unreal Engine remaster of the cult role-playing game Gothic 1 Classic was released. The update weighs a little over 3 GB and includes a new game mode, as well as other improvements.

The developer stated that this update changed the engine version, which improved the performance of the Gothic 1 Classic remaster. In addition, he created a "VR mode by order of (Gothic VR)". To launch the game in virtual reality, simply add the -vr launch parameter.

Access to the Gothic 1 remaster can be obtained on Steam through the game properties in the beta versions section (the required branch is called "unrealbeta").

The developer announced that "in the coming days" he plans to create an update for the Gothic II remaster and add a VR game mode to this part.

Earlier this year, Gothic 1 Remake was released on PC and consoles. The project by Alkimia Interactive studio was very well received by players: the remake received "very positive" reviews on Steam (an 88% rating after 40 thousand reviews).
