A new "Naruto" mini-series announced - details to be revealed soon

Previously, VIZ Media also promised to share details about a new animated film based on the franchise.

VIZ Media has announced a new television mini-series based on "Naruto". The first details will be revealed on October 10 at New York Comic Con — on Naruto Uzumaki's birthday.

The new announcement, however, caused some confusion. In a previous press release, cited by Hollywood publications including Variety, the company promised to show first footage and share details about a new animated film, as well as talk about the Naruto Card Game.

No mini-series was mentioned in the original program. Therefore, it is currently unclear whether VIZ Media has changed the format of the previously announced full-length project or if fans can indeed expect two new releases.

Further confusion is created by the four anniversary "Naruto" episodes that VIZ Media intended to release back in September 2023. At that time, the premiere was postponed to improve quality, and since then, no new date has been announced. It is currently unknown whether these episodes are related to the mini-series or the animated film.

The situation should become clear at the presentation itself, which will also be broadcast on YouTube — the live stream will begin on October 11 at 00:00 Moscow time.
