Escape from Tarkov Developers Improved Hit Registration and Added New Weapons to the Online Shooter EFT: Arena
Escape from Tarkov: Arena also fixed memory leaks.
Battlestate Games studio is developing not only the main extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov, but also the session-based online shooter Escape from Tarkov: Arena. A recent update was released, which expanded the arsenal for the revamped BlastGang mode, and also introduced technical improvements.
One of the key changes in the update was “technical improvements on the server to enhance hit registration.” The developers explained that they are taking a different approach to hit calculation:
Now, if a player managed to fire a shot before their death, the already fired bullets will continue to be processed by the server until their trajectory is complete and will be able to inflict damage on the enemy. Previously, the processing of such bullets stopped after the shooter's death. This could create situations where a hit visually occurred, but damage to the enemy was not registered.
This change may lead to situations where “mutual kills” occur during a match. This improvement is “experimental” — the developers are studying feedback and other adjustments may be made to the system in the future.
The developers also fixed a bug when trying to report a player or add them as a friend through match history if the player is not on the friends list. In addition, memory leaks were eliminated when sequentially entering a match via the “Next Game” button.
The following weapon models can now be used in BlastGang mode:
- MP7A1
- MP7A2
- AK-50
- Mk18 Mjolnir
- APS
- APB
- TT-33
