Hollywood's "Naruto" Will Start From the Very Beginning - Insider Reveals Alleged Plot

The adaptation is being prepared by "Spider-Man: New Day" director Destin Daniel Cretton.

Journalist Caleb Williams from Knight Edge Media shared the alleged synopsis of the live-action adaptation of "Naruto," directed by Destin Daniel Cretton:

"The story unfolds in a captivating alternate world where every child dreams of becoming a ninja. Naruto Uzumaki — an exceptionally gifted but difficult newcomer — receives his first assignment alongside Sasuke and Sakura, who are not too thrilled about such a partner. The mission turns out to be far more dangerous and sinister than expected. Naruto has to confront his inner demons, including a real demon, which, as it turns out, is the source of his power."

Judging by the description, the feature film adaptation will start Naruto's story from the very beginning and cover the "Land of Waves" arc, focusing on the formation of Team 7 and its first serious mission.

This is also supported by the recent change in casting requirements. Initially, it was reported that actors aged 16 to 20 were being sought for the roles of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. However, two weeks ago, a second casting call opened, this time only for the roles of Naruto and Sakura. This time, the creators are looking for children aged 13 to 15 who are involved in gymnastics, dance, or martial arts.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" and "Spider-Man: New Day." According to the casting agency Carmen Cuba Casting, principal photography for the film is planned to take place from January to August 2027. The film does not yet have a premiere date.
