Warner Bros. has set the premiere of the film "Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest" for June 1, 2029. According to Deadline, Owen Harris, who directed episodes of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," will direct, and Bo Willimon, one of the writers of "Andor" and the creator of the series "House of Cards," is preparing the script.
The plot will unfold approximately 300 years before the events of the original series and will tell the story of Aegon I Targaryen's conquest of Westeros. At that time, the future king, along with his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys, used three dragons — Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes — to subjugate most of the continent. Aegon conquered six kingdoms, founded the Targaryen dynasty, and created the Iron Throne from the weapons of his defeated enemies.
The cast and filming start dates have not yet been announced.
