The fifth season has started in the Diablo IV and PoE 2 competitor - Last Epoch developers talked about new features
Players will be able to participate in a new event and fight a boss.
In early October, Eleventh Hour Games announced the start of the fifth season in the ARPG Last Epoch and introduced update 1.5. New content and various improvements were added to the game.
A random event, "Morditas's Fury," has appeared, which players will encounter while traveling through Eterra in campaign and monolith modes. This event can appear as early as the second chapter of the campaign; and in echo mode as a new interactive object — a blood crystal.
To activate the event, you need to interact with the crystal. When "Morditas's Fury" begins, his incorporeal shadow will follow the player, which "will urge you to find and kill as many enemies as possible" and a countdown timer will start. Killing enemies will extend the time; the higher the enemy's level, the more time will be given.
Time will increase with each enemy killed, but it can only be extended to a certain limit:
When you kill enemies, Morditas's shadow takes their souls. In return, you receive charges of blood fury, which are displayed on the event progress bar under the mini-map. Morditas will also give you blood fury buffs: for each charge of blood fury received, one of 28 powerful buffs is randomly selected, which will be active throughout the challenge.
Upon reaching 200 kills, the timer will rapidly reset, and after reaching 0, the second phase will begin. Morditas will create an arena with walls of blood ice. Then all enemies killed in the first phase will resurrect and try to defeat the player. After defeating all opponents, a blood crystal will appear, which can be interacted with to receive rewards.
After completing the "Morditas's Fury" challenges, players will be able to unlock three new challenges related to Morditas. Once Morditas collects enough souls, a set of special echoes will open. In the last echo, the Circle of Frozen Blood, players will face a new boss, Morditas.
