Silent Hill 2 to be removed from PS Plus right before Halloween - players are outraged
Sony will remove Silent Hill 2 from the PS Plus catalog just days before Halloween, depriving subscribers of one of the best games for dark autumn evenings.
The October PlayStation Plus catalog update has caused a stir online. Users have long complained about the declining quality of the selections, and now they are particularly angered by the list of games that will leave the service: Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Gloomhaven: Mercenaries Edition, and Rogue Lords.
The main reason for dissatisfaction was the removal of the Silent Hill 2 remake. The game by Polish Bloober Team appeared in the subscription exactly a year ago and was considered an ideal option for the autumn period. Now Sony is removing it from the catalog just days before Halloween – at a time when interest in horror games is traditionally particularly high.
Players also note the atmosphere, visual design, and story of trauma and guilt, which have made Silent Hill 2 one of the most prominent psychological games of recent years.
Recall that Bloober Team is also working on a remake of Silent Hill 1, a large-scale presentation of which is expected in 2027.
