After 10 years, American Truck Simulator added a new gameplay type - the car DLC received very positive reviews on Steam
Many players were satisfied with Road Trip: Ford.
Recently, the developers of the truck simulator American Truck Simulator released their first car add-on, called Road Trip: Ford. It unlocks a new type of gameplay — players can travel the world in regular cars and explore.
In addition to traveling, the creators of American Truck Simulator offer virtual drivers the opportunity to earn money. For example, you can take on the role of a courier and deliver goods. Customers will rate you, and over time you will be able to unlock additional orders. You can also transport cars between dealerships.
The first reviews for the Road Trip: Ford DLC are "very positive" — an 84% rating after a thousand reviews. Players praise the new way to explore the virtual version of the US states. Some community members warn that it takes time to get used to the controls and share tips on setting up the controls:
Be prepared to fly and flip, constantly crash, and pay for full repairs and refuel often (gas runs out very quickly) while you get used to it. I advise setting the steering sensitivity to 0.46 (or less) on the keyboard, unchecking the realistic fuel consumption model, and setting the transmission (devices) settings to adaptive automatic transmission - normal or economic mode; in power mode, you will fly.
The Road Trip: Ford add-on page for American Truck Simulator on Steam is available at the following link. Currently, the developers are working on a DLC with the new state of Indiana. It does not yet have a specific release date.
Until November 22, 2026, an in-game event will be held in honor of the South Dakota add-on release. You can receive memorable rewards for completing deliveries.
